Terms and Conditions of Service
1. Introduction and Agreement to Terms
Welcome to The Insurance Hack. By accessing our platform, purchasing any service, or submitting any enquiry, you (The Customer) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services.
2. Nature of Service
The Insurance Hack operates as a referral and signposting service. We connect customers with independent, third-party insurance specialists by redirecting them to the specialist’s own website or platform. We do not collect, process, or store any personal or insurance related information submitted by the Customer. All information provided during the quote process is submitted directly by the Customer to the relevant specialist on the specialist’s own platform, and is entirely outside of our control.
We do not provide insurance products, underwrite policies, or act as a regulated insurance adviser.
3. Service Commencement and Purchase Acknowledgement
By completing a purchase, the Customer acknowledges and agrees to the following: the service is provided on a digital and on-demand basis and commences immediately upon payment confirmation. The referral process, specialist allocation, and associated administrative work begin at the point of purchase. By proceeding with payment, the Customer expressly requests the immediate supply of services and acknowledges that, in accordance with applicable statutory provisions governing distance contracts for digital and on-demand services, any applicable cancellation rights are foregone upon commencement of the service so requested. No refunds are available outside of the circumstances set out in Sections 6 and 7 of these Terms and Conditions.
4. Fees
The standard service fee is £49.99 (forty-nine pounds and ninety-nine pence). This fee is payable in full at the time of purchase and covers up to three insurance quotes sourced by the specialist on your behalf. The fee is non-refundable except in the specific circumstances set out in Sections 6 and 7.
5. Specialist Quotes
Upon purchase, you will be referred to an independent insurance specialist who will work to source a lower quote than the valid renewal quote you provide. The specialist will carry out up to three quotes as part of the service covered by the initial fee. Any request for additional quotes beyond this may be declined or may result in additional charges at the specialist’s discretion.
6. Refund Policy
Refunds are only available in the following strictly defined circumstances:
- The specialist has been unable to find a lower quote than the valid renewal quote submitted by the Customer prior to contacting the specialist; AND
- The Customer has followed the full process set out in these Terms and Conditions and in the Information Document provided at the time of purchase.
No refund will be issued in any other circumstances, including but not limited to: the Customer no longer requiring the service, the Customer finding an alternative provider, the Customer changing their mind, or the Customer failing to follow the required process.
7. Conditions for Refund Eligibility
To be eligible for a refund under Section 6, all of the following conditions must be satisfied:
- A valid renewal quote must be submitted to the email address provided in the Information Document before contacting the specialist. The quote must be a genuine renewal quote — not a current active policy, a previously issued quote, or a quote obtained from a comparison website.
- The renewal quote must contain information directly comparable to the details provided to the specialist. Discrepancies in vehicle details, named drivers, or personal circumstances will render the quote invalid for refund purposes.
- The Customer must contact the specialist by completing the form as instructed in the Information Document.
- If the specialist is unable to beat the quote, the Customer must contact our customer service team via email before any refund can be considered, allowing us the opportunity to review the case and seek further quotes.
- All correspondence and evidence requested by our customer service team must be provided promptly.
8. Invalid Refund Requests
A refund will not be issued in any of the following circumstances:
- No valid renewal quote was provided prior to contacting the specialist.
- The renewal quote provided was invalid, inflated, expired, or otherwise not a genuine like-for-like comparison.
- The Customer provided false, misleading, or incomplete information to the specialist, including but not limited to undisclosed driving convictions, accidents, or modifications.
- The Customer has requested more than three quotes.
- The Customer seeks to cancel for any reason not expressly covered under Section 6.
9. Cancellation
As the service commences immediately upon purchase as described in Section 3, cancellations are not accepted outside of the refund circumstances set out in Sections 6 and 7. The Customer’s decision to no longer require the service, to find an alternative, or to change their mind does not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.
10. Chargebacks
By purchasing this service, you agree that initiating a chargeback with your bank or card provider outside of the refund process set out in these Terms and Conditions constitutes a breach of this agreement. In the event of an unjustified chargeback, we reserve the right to provide your bank or card issuer with a copy of these Terms and Conditions, your order confirmation, and evidence of service commencement in order to dispute the chargeback. We further reserve the right to pursue any outstanding amounts through appropriate legal channels.
11. Customer Responsibilities
By using our service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, truthful, and complete information at all times.
- Submit a valid renewal quote before contacting the specialist, as required.
- Read and follow the steps set out in the Information Document provided upon purchase.
- Contact our customer service team via email before raising any dispute or chargeback with your bank.
12. How to Request a Refund
All refund requests must be submitted via email to: TheInsuranceHack@outlook.com
Your email must include:
- Your full name and order number.
- A copy of the valid renewal quote submitted to the specialist.
- Details of the quote(s) provided by the specialist.
- Confirmation that you followed the process set out in the Information Document.
We are available Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00, and aim to respond within 3 business days.
13. Data and Privacy
The Insurance Hack does not collect, store, or process any personal data submitted by the Customer as part of the insurance quote process. When redirected to a specialist’s website, any information you provide is submitted directly to that specialist and is governed entirely by their own privacy policy and data protection practices. You should review the relevant specialist’s privacy policy before submitting any personal information.
14. External Specialist Services
All quotes are sourced from independent third-party specialists and brokers. The Insurance Hack is not responsible for the accuracy, validity, or availability of quotes provided by these third parties. Any insurance policy you take out is a contract between you and the relevant insurer or broker, and The Insurance Hack is not a party to that contract.
15. No Financial or Legal Advice
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions or on our platform constitutes financial, legal, or regulated insurance advice. All information is provided for general informational purposes only.
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website. Continued use of our services following any such amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
